Teaching Experience

Also known as Mrs. Burk, I began my teaching journey about ten years ago. I have worked with children of all ages ever since I started my first job at a daycare center when I was only 16 years old. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016 with a degree in Early Elementary Education.

I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in Title 1 schools in Texas. During my second year teaching, I won the title of student-voted Teacher of the Month! This experience reinforced my belief in the power of positive student-teacher connections and continues to inspire me to create resources that are engaging and fun.

I am currently a stay-at-home mama to my adorable son, Payton, while creating teacher resources and blogging!

My Teaching Style

I believe that every child brings something unique to the classroom dynamic and the world as a whole. Every student has different strengths and needs, and I believe that every child can excel in school with the right support. My resources are designed to be differentiated, adaptable, and engaging to help students reach their full potential.

Learning should be meaningful and have connections to everyday life. My teaching style involves authentic real-world applications, supporting the belief that students learn best when they can see the relevance of their studies to life outside of school.

My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, with a focus on hands-on learning. I believe that students learn best when actively engaged, so my resources include many hands-on activities and projects. By incorporating inquiry-based techniques, my materials aim to foster critical thinking, exploration, and creativity, making learning enjoyable for all students.

My experience has shown me that students thrive when they are challenged and supported, and I strive to incorporate this into every product I create. My goal is to provide teachers with resources that are designed to spark a passion for learning!
